Luxury Bathroom Trends We're Seeing in 2026

If there’s one thing we’ve noticed over the last year, it’s that people are thinking about their bathrooms very differently.

A few years ago, most bathroom projects focused on practicality. Clients wanted more storage, a bigger shower or a fresh new look. Those things still matter, of course, but in 2026, we’re seeing a shift towards creating spaces that feel genuinely enjoyable to spend time in.

The bathroom has become a place to switch off, recharge, and escape the demands of everyday life, even if it’s only for twenty minutes before work or an hour at the end of a busy day.

As a result, luxury bathroom design is moving away from cold, showroom-perfect spaces and towards something much warmer, more personal and far more comfortable to live with.

Here are some of the trends shaping luxury bathrooms in 2026.

The Spa Bathroom Isn’t Going Anywhere

The idea of turning your bathroom into a spa isn’t new, but it’s becoming less about copying a luxury hotel and more about creating something tailored to your own routine.

For some people, that means a large walk-in shower with body jets and mood lighting. For others, it's a freestanding bath positioned to make the most of a garden view. We’ve even seen clients prioritise integrated sound systems so they can properly switch off at the end of the day.

The common theme is simple. People want their bathroom to help them relax.

Luxury Is Becoming More Understated

One trend we’re particularly pleased to see is the move towards quieter, more timeless design.

Rather than choosing products because they’re fashionable or eye-catching, homeowners are investing in quality materials that will still look fantastic ten years from now.

Natural stone, beautifully crafted furniture and well-made brassware are all proving popular. Not because they’re flashy, but because they feel substantial and age gracefully.

In many ways, true luxury in 2026 is about confidence. A bathroom doesn’t need to shout to make an impression.

Warmth Is Replacing Minimalism

For years, luxury bathrooms were dominated by crisp white surfaces, polished chrome and ultra-minimal styling.

Today, we’re seeing clients gravitate towards warmer schemes that feel more welcoming and comfortable.

Rustic style is having a huge resurgence, timber finishes continue to grow in popularity, and earthy tones are appearing in everything from wall tiles to furniture. Even when homeowners choose neutral colours, they often introduce texture through ribbed cabinetry, natural stone, and handmade tiles.

Showers Are Becoming the Main Event

While freestanding baths still have their place, many homeowners are investing more heavily in their showering experience.

Larger walk-in enclosures, oversized rainfall shower heads and seamless floor-level trays are all high on wish lists. In some luxury projects, the shower area now occupies more space than the bath itself.

This reflects how most people actually use their bathrooms. For many households, the shower is where they spend time every day, so it makes sense to prioritise it.
